Talking - 20G - TD05HR : Compressor wheel......found, available in the US ?

Hi there,

I've found the 20G Compressor wheel, reverse design for our Turbo's over in Australia > http://www.gtpumps.com.au/wheels.html

Just wondering if they're available here from anyone or if I have to order it from Australia ?

Thanks in advance !

I wonder if the wheel is an authentic Mitsubishi cast wheel or one that is being machined i.e, here in the U.S. and being sold overseas...? If it's authentic I think it's worth investigating.

Have you read the Buchur FP saga of 20g reverse wheel design and development here?

You may not want a 6 blade design in a 16g housing.

16g is a six blade.

If it is infact a real cast 20G 6 blade wheel, however we don't know for certain and those pictures on the website well... they're just pictures that may not be indicatiive of the real wheels they are selling.

Here's something to ponder about for those that debate over 5 and 6 blades. Has anyone weighed the wheels being machined vs. a true cast 20G wheel? The machined 6 blade wheel may be heavier and thus resulting with unexpected 20G wheel performance of a real cast wheel. The 5 blade may be a bit lighter resulting with lower heat and perhaps a lighter weight aswell.

There's so much attention given to the TME turbo and it's turbine wheel weight savings and effects on performance i.e, quick spool up. So I wonder... how much do these wheels weigh? My hunch is that the machined wheels don't weigh exactly as the real cast 20G ounce for ounce.

Let me re-phrase... The six blade reverse 20g wheel created more backpressure in a 16g housing ( At least from the one Buschur developed). The smaller (stock) 6 blade 16g wheel in a 16g housing obviously seems to work fine. Thus, the 5 blade reverse 20g development @ FP. that has shown less back pressure and seems to work as well.

I think we should be open minded on this wheel until we know for sure whether it works. Just because a particular 6 bladed wheel was not succesful does NOT mean this one will not be. If they are 2 different wheels, lets wait and see.
