Question on cams : Brand & grind

Since HKS has raised their prices I wont be buying their cams. I was told that there is a very popular cam called GSX? and that they sell for 400-450. Anyone have experiance with these or any really good cams that are available.
I'm also wondering about the 272 VS 256. I've been told that the 264 is better suited to the street and will kick in 300 rpms sooner, whereas the 272's require higher rpms and come in later in the power band. Any recommendations based on experiance?
Also, Would I benifit from swapping from my 2.75" Tannabe downpipe to an ebay 3" downpipe?

Buddy Club Racing Spec Camshafts
https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sh...buddyclub+cams
All Racing Spec camshafts are made from new billets of high nickel content iron alloy, not reground stock units, therefore equaling or exceeding the OE units they are designed to replace in terms of quality and workmanship. The camshafts are direct replacements and are designed to be compatible with the factory followers and valve springs. Buddy Club also offers high performance valve spring sets for limited applications that can benefit from stiffer springs when using “Larger” profile Buddy Club camshafts. It is possible to gain at least 20+ whp with Racing Spec camshafts on turbocharged applications.

Specs:

Duration Lift

Intake 264 10.8
Exhaust 272 10.2

Go with Revolver cams (more money than HKS but worth the extra buck IMO)
Also the 272'/272s hks cams are nice (tons of evo's run them). You could go with a 264/272. I would also get springs and retainers with the revolvers. Not really necessary with the hks.

Who do you use to have your car tuned ?,they can guide you and make suggestions.

Here is a link which may help there are tons of Cam threads on here just search and read about them.

Buy a set of used 272 cams. Cams don't wear like tires. Used sets go for about $425 shipped.

I purchased used 272 and picked up 30WHP and 27WTQ throughout the powerband no loss of power anywhere. Get proven high quality used stuff. That way when you are done with them you can sell them for the same price you paid.
