sliping clutch

My 03 evo 8 has 15k, and the clutch started to slip today. the pedal has about 40% of play in it, and it slips in every gear. It will slip anywere from 500-1000 rpm and then it will grip like crazy at full boost.
Since the car only has 15k and it doesnt slip until the rev limiter, is there some sort of an adjusting clutch device? Also the fluid is between max and min level. Help me out guys

Yea, something is wrong here. If your clutch was slipping it would slip when you hit boost and grab fine when just cruising around town. If you look at evomoto.com tutorial site it will show you how to adjust the play with the clutch pedal

and by slipping do you mean your rpm is increasing but with no speed? 500-1000 rpm is hardly any power band

Edit: after reading your post a few more time I think I finally made out what you are trying to say. Your clutch isn't slipping, it's perfectly fine. If the pickup is too high you can adjust it, just follow the evomoto directions

Agree with this man. If you clutch is starting to go it will being slipping at WOT when the turbo spools. That is how my stocker went, turbo would spool and the rpms would rise to ~4300 with no increase in speed.

I've had a clutch go that acted like he describes, like an automatic that kicks down to passing gear when the gas petal is stabbed only to catch and hold at higher rpm. This was on a '92 laser with the 4G63 turbo engine and the clutch disc was found to be down to the rivets.

yeah but it was slipping between 500 and 1000 rpm? i doubt there is enough torque at that rpm

I am assuming thats BY how many rpm it was slipping and not the actual rpm range?

that is correct it will slip by 500-1000 rmp when I driving it slow, but then I WOT it will slip up to 4K and then it will grab.
So If im driving at 40 mph in 4th gear at 2900 RPM, and WOT with my left foot off the clutch. The engine will jump to 4K RPM and then it grabs like crazy and starts to gain speed.
When I drive normaly the rmp moves up and down (depenting on how much throttle I give it) like a automatic car.

Your clutch is done. You should order a new one and plan to have it installed very soon. You shouldn't drive your car as it may leave you stranded. Typically once the stock clutch starts to go it doesn't last very long before it can't even get the car to move.

This man speaks the truth - for now i would put a brick under the throttle so you dont go WOT and cause it to fail faster!

Ahhhhhhhhhhhh I get it now. Yes your clutch is toast. The Evo clutch has a limiter that doesn't let the clutch material go all the way to the rivets before it stops working, and as such, stops working rather abruptly. Don't drive it unless you are on your way to get your clutch installed, and even then you should have AAA.
