REV To 9 Grand

I heard there is a mod out there that allows you to rev to 9 grand.
I think it involves just head work, does anyone know the name of the company?

It's called Valvesprings and Ti Retainers.

Unless you have a Big Turbo and Aggressive cams there is no point in reving the motor to 9000 rpm. the stock turbo can't support it.

Supertech, Rev, Crower, Cosworth, Piper, And Revolver all Make springsets that can handle that high RPM

Its called Vtec. If you want to rev that high for cheap go buy a honda. Even if you got your Evo to rev that high you wouldnt be able to shift with the stock transmission.

Why would you even want to, unless you have a HUGE snail on it?

Most evo trannys and stock clutches dont even like shifting at anything over 7k, to get your car to shift and 9k your tranny would need to take a visit to T.R.E. or sheppard as well as a nice twin disc clutch from Tilton or Exedy.

You will need a new block as well to do it all day. The slowboy racing 2.1L revs to 10.5 k i believe.

This type of motor is only required for guys with 42rs and such.

A cosworth head and a reflash will do the trick.

i was reving my stock motor (besides cams and headbolts ) to 8600 rpms ....only reason was i had a big turbo but even more so was the fact that i needed it to run through the traps at 129mph....

It doesn't matter one iota who built the motor or what head it has. Without a turbo that extends the power band high enough to warrant a 9k rpm shift point, there is not one good reason to attempt it . . . unless one is just dumb enough to enjoy beating up the motor and going SLOW.
