Grounding Kit Results
Hey All...just thought I would post some results I had tonight with a DIY grounding kit I made to help me stabilize a voltage problem I had. Since I have had the car, the voltage would drop down below 12.5v if I had the lights and AC on (I live in Phoenix, it stays 100+ degrees during the night these days). I had a small battery kit installed with a Braille battery, but that did not seem to help the problem. Then I switched to an Optima redtop battery with the exact same "problems". These problems were dimming headlights when getting into 1st gear, sluggishness getting into 1st gear, and general "sickly" feeling below 2000 rpms.
Today I went out and bought me some 8 gauge stereo wire and some ends and made me a grounding kit. Hooked it in the following:
Negative Terminal --> Frame near the intake
Negative Terminal --> Transmission (near clutch line) (need 6mm bolt 1.0 pitch - 16mm long)
Transmission --> Intake Manifold
Intake Manifold --> Cyl. Head
Now my voltage does not drop past 13.6v during idle and hover around 13.9v to 14.0v when moving. The car is much much smoother and the lights don't dim. When it does have a sudden loss of voltage (like switching from high revs to neutral suddenly), the car recovers very quickly back up to 13.6v. The car seems like it really wants to rev now.
I couldn't be happier with the performance now. I know most people do not think grounding kits do anything...and I agree if the car is grounded properly. However, environmental factors and factory problems do exist, and I just wanted to post this in case anyone else was having similar problems.
Thanks for reading.

yeah im an essential believer of grounding kits... some people make fun of me but i swear by it. i had the kit for my evo....now w/ my supra, it was the first mod... i was too lazy to hit the tranny so mine is the following points....
1.passenger side chassis pt
2.engine pt above the alternator
3.back firewall
4.engine pt on the driver side
5.battery neg
6.driver side chassis pt
i didnt so huge gains in feel but immediately i noticed the lights got alil brighter at night and stereo was alil crisper. i think the revs got alil smoother but i cant say 100%

I did my grounding kit 2 weeks ago and saw similar results as well....
Mine was a bit more complex, but it was fun making it...

Now, maybe someone from this thread can help me. I have an issue were the stock radio unit flickers (dims then comes back dims then comes back ) with the beat of what ever music type I may be listening to, friends think it's cool but I know that's not supposed to be like that.
Would a grounding Kit save the day?
Also , a little bit of a background on my "grounding" issues I have had before :
Some jack-off at the dealership un-did the main ground running to the engine block , which left the secondary ground ( Cam angle sensor ) the Primary. Anyone knowing the size of the secondary ground knows what kind of douchebag move this is . Anyway the power from the grounding Burnt the damn wire thru the harness and I had to have it pulled and re insulated by harman motive.
Harman said that he re insulated as far back as he possibly could and that he thinks he got it all. WTF should I do here? Grounding Kit?
