05 clutch change

Alright well this weekend we are putting in an act clutch in my car. It is an 2005 5 speed with the acd. Ive got 3 quarts of bg synchro and the stock diaqueen lsd oil for the transfer case. Am I missing anything here. Also do I need any other liquids that are different for the acd.

Bullseye as far is fluids. Most of the people recommends the diaqueen GL-4 (I think)so stick with it.

I personally like to install clean parts in my car, you my want to consider some kind of degreaser for cleaning the clutch bell housing from asbestos and dirt, you don't want dirt inside the clutch assembly.

When I did my ACD fluid it came black, I never expected it was going to be that dark.

You need the Diamond SP III ATF for the ACD, and you need to know how to bleed it properly afterwards. Mitsu uses the MUT-III tool, but you can do it the ghetto way with one person bleeding and the other in the cockpit turning the key.

Your other fluids are good to go. With your extra DiaQueen, you should consider changing out the rear diff fluid, too. You'll have plenty to spare.

I would pick up an extra qt for the transfercase. You don't have to drain it but it leaks a little bit. Oh yeah if you can find some patients you might want to go pick some of that up too. Good Luck

Extra quart for the transfercase? I think he said he got the Mitsu DiaQueen, and that comes in a gallon can. He won't use half of it on the transfercase, and I thought it leaked all the way. Maybe that's because I've always drained it fully when doing a clutch change...

Its all good things could be different on a ACD equiped car. When I did mine, once I disconected my TC it dripped extremely slow. I left mine off for a week and my oil spot on the ground was no bigger than a quarter.

Didn't you remove the drain plug? It should have all poured right out - it shouldn't just drip slowly.

What about that extra quart thing? Was it just a miscommunication?

What do I think what? Were you asking if that's enough? I only bought one container from Mitsu, and I think it was one quart. That was plenty.

I might've miss read the thread a little. I see that he has two different oils. My mixup I did remove the drain plug on the tranny but I never removed drain plug on the transfercase.
