Exclamation Stroker guys . . . lend me your ears!

Congrats to all the Evo elite and the moves to the stroked 4G63 --- but I'd like to know something relative to your performance goals . . .

In the search for the ultimate kick-@ss balance of drivability and power, a lot of us are trying to zero in on the best stroked-block, turbo combo --- one that combines decent spool (3200 - 4000) with neck-snapping acceleration and top-end, but with enough on-throttle modulation potential to be useful on and off the tarmac. Sounds like the perfect combo, huh? I know, I know --- we're not talking about a full on drag setup, so why the fuss? POWER+CONTROL. That's it really. Now I'll admit, that I'm only on Evo #2, and some of you are performance record-holders for this, that and the other with Evo's, so that's why I've come to you.

To sum up, here's the big question: Forsaking HUGE power, and "slayer-show" throttle response, where's the best of both worlds' in the stroked-power equation?

You guys ROCK --- Operators are standing by.

3076 or a 50 trim, I run a 3076 and make full boost at around 3800 rpm in third, and make 360 ft lb of tq shortly there after.

Is that some sort of trick question?

2.3

Everybody runs 2.3, if there is somebody running a 2.2 its because they have too much money and wanted something with a JDM name attached, if its a 2.4/2.1 its no longer a 4g63.

I run a 2.3 with a BB50 trim. Turbotrix did the work. I am puting 475hp and 476tq. to the wheels. I'm very pleased with this setup. If you want to see some pic of my car. Go to the home page and search for " old guy met turbotrix"
Good luck

50 trim OR 3076R as mentioned. Good for 380-430 hp on pump with decent spool up.

Scorke -- Heh, no tricky questions, just looking to long at the Cosworth crate engine offerings from WORKS (pipe dreams, of course).

F.O.G. -- Great numbers! If you don't mind me asking, when do you reach full boost with your setup?

Here is a thread with TT 2.3 and the 50 trim.

Scorke, did you opt for the .020 overbore with your stroker, or did you stay with stnd bore?

^ for reference tq/hp always cross at 5252, so he is making peak tq at about 5000 rpms.

Standard bore. The way I look at it when your building a motor, it usually isn't something you expect to last forever, even with a perfectly built, best of the best parts build, "built" motors are not supposed to last forever. Also, because I plan on doing some heavy track day events/ daily driving my car there is a chance in the not so distant future that something could/will go wrong, and pending a seriously catastrophic failure, keepign the standard bore gives me another 1-2 rebuilds off of the same block, where as if I overbored and blew it up I would be Focked.
