HKS 272 ex cam on IX
I have a evo ix MR with the following mods:
RnR racing tbe
K&N drop in
Ecutek reflash
Hks 280 ex cam
And at tunning technologies dyno I pushed out 343 awhp with 354 awtq. Untunned I was at 301awhp when my car first hit the dyno. Crazy things. I've seen so many ix's with the same mods or better and there power gains aren't as high or higher especially after being reflashed. Dunno why

Did you have any issues with this? What boost levels are where you tuned with?

Granted, this guy has more than just cams, but to me this car is making serious power for it's mods. Maybe it would be more accurate to say that IX's don't respond well to cams that are currently being sold for the VIII.
When I got tunned by shiv @ tunning techonlogies we were there from 3:30 to 8:00 untill we got where my car should be at and that was 343awhp. I'm boosting 26psi, I asked shiv why? He said because by what he was reading on his comp he said evos lose 3 psi. Amazingly I'm boosting 23 psi steady. As far as any problems I didn't have any what so ever, thank god everything was ok. But to answer ur question no no problems. What did he tell you?
No, that wouldn't make sense either. Their cam set still has a normal VIII exhaust cam, so saying that the cams currently being sold for the VIII don't work on a IX doesn't matter. We already know the VIII intake cam won't fit at all, and the exhaust cam is used either way. Doing just the exhaust cam doesn't seem to do anything, and those who have spent $900 on the whole IX set (basically $600 for the intake cam) haven't shown gains either.. The only car to make that sort of power was the car owned by a TT employee. Other customer cars with those cams haven't gotten near those power numbers.
Wow, 26psi tapering to 23...no wonder you made that much power (more tq than hp) on 91. Doesn't leave much room for improvement, and I can't imagine running that much boost daily on 91 regardless of the tuning method.

I may drop the stock cam back in, just to see the difference with and with-out the 280 cam.

But statix I think it would throw off your tune if you were to put back ur original cam back in right? I was thinking of doing the same thing but I don't want my car running like ish and me losing power. but yeah
