Nite Rider, you don't need a Xede just to switch maps. We can do that with flashes, and we can have as many maps as we want for ANY situation. This is what I have:
Daily - 93+alky @ 26psi
Drag - 112+alky @28psi
Circuit - 93+alky @ 24psi
Circuit - 104 @ 24psi
Auto-x - 104 @ 26psi (alky not legal)
Valet - rev limiter and launch limiters set to 3500rpm with a stock map
Stock - self-explanatory
I can't switch on the fly, bu t I'd never need to. I just need my laptop, and I can change maps (or change parameters) in seconds. If you get the Xede, get it for other reasons, but don't get it just so you can have multiple octane maps. You get that for $90 with EcuFlash.
It's lame because I don't want Dynoflash to tune my car. I'm not a fan of the number 8. Now if Buschur designed the maps and Dynoflash loaded it, I could possibly live with that.
It seems like Buschur would have the capability to do their own mail in flash. If they can sell the cable, why can't they use it too?
Next is the map switching. NOT A PROBLEM! We can do our mail in flash for you as always, also supply you with a race gas map on a disc and a cable. Anytime you want to change your tune you simply load in your new map from your laptop that is contained on the disc we will supply you if you want that type of set-up. Cost is $100 extra for this option.
They don't use EcuFlash to tune cars. They focus on AEM EMS and other higher-end devices. They use Dynoflash for their flashes. Either way, it doesn't matter. Buschur designed the flashes in his packages, and Al has the files that he either sends you via email (like e-flash) or flashes into your mailed ECU.
Regardless, saying you're not a "fan" of the number 8 just shows ignorance. I can't imagine what you people would say if you saw some OTHER tuner's maps with 16* of timing at peak boost. 8* is great in that range - far, far better than the 0-3 I used to get with my SAFC. It provides tons more torque and mid-range, then it ramps up naturally after 5000rpm.
