Great info, I have to see how many threads I have showing!! I had my 1st Exedy Twin start slipping with 25K miles on it, and I always wondered if I could have prematurely wore it out by not adjusting the clutch pedal UP. It always engaged at 1" off the floor.

Engagement means clutch in?

My clutch is a bit slow...feels like I need to slip it a bit before I can go. How do I adjust to get to the point where I just release clutch and go instead of slipping it a bit? Thanks.

I have a stock one in my driveway (Friends), and his clutch engages 3" off the floor, or "close to the top", and my Twin Plate engages 1" or so off the floor, and it appears this measurement is different at different times of "Heat" in the motor. Any input, or are you gonna send me packing on a "search" mission?
Mine does the EXACT same thing. Noize and RallyRedEvo drove my car and hated the clutch engagement. I'm almost used to it, however I'd like it to be more like 2"-3" off the floor. I tried to adjsut it, but I guess Im stupid because I couldn't figure out how to do it.

You mean "Release the clutch and go?" is that spanish for DUMP the CLUTCH?? I wouldn't want to do that, you have to "load" the drivetrain before you STOMP it. that is safer.

Hey smokedmustang, ever check how many threads you have on the inner side of the u-bracket?

Curious, because I adjusted my car's clutch (Exedy twin-disc HD) and I still get locked out of 3rd gear at times.

The car is at the shop (Imagine that!! ) I am off tomorrow, so I can go check it out, and let you know tomorrow. I haven't gotten locked out of any gear using an exedy. I will check and report back to you in the AM.

When it was dynoed at AMS last week, they told me to look at the "propeller" shaft, which was clanking at HIGH boost, and HIGH Torque. is getting the carrier bearings replaced/checked. got to get it right, before a "re-tune" at AMS. they didn't do the Meth tune either, due to the "clanking". will keep you posted.

This is why I don't like to talk about the clutch rod in terms of rotation, but rather length. Threading the rod out, toward the master, or making it "longer," makes the slave move further, reduced freeplay, and raises the engagement point. And vice versa for making the rod "shorter." Luckily these master cylinders are not like the 2g and do not have the check valve to limit the range of adjustment and cause the "pump up" problem.

My clutch engages very far...like 3 inches+ but even then sometimes If I try to put it into first with my foot to the floor I can feel my car move when I put into gear. Its not lurching but enough that I notice it. Should I adjust the clutch up some more? I'm assuming that it wouldn't matter as the engagement shouldn't take 3 inches so... *shrug*

This could be an indication your clutch is going bye-bye, any slippage on driving it? have you already adjusted it and came up with this symptom? You have to adjust your pedal DOWN!! Or counterclockwise. You are too far up!!! your clutch is STILL grabbing, it should be disengaged with the pedal on the floor. I would say adjust it ONE turn counterclockwise, and you will be fine. I would do it ASAP, as you are slowly wearing out your clutch with your symptoms you explained.
