IF the figure is accurate - they are prob ruuning on the ragged edge - he even says that in his forum - - they can afford to risk blowing up and engine - I cant !

Uh, I believe they said that they made it conservative so that people on 91 octane would be able to use the setting as well as people on 93/94 octane.
Al, show me where Buschur says what you claim.

We dialed the car in at 12.0:1 AFR. We could have ran it to 12.5:1 but with the different fuel qualities out there we kept it safe. You guys on 91 octane the car should still be safe.

Bushcur did not setup the baseline SAFC numbers on his dyno. They shoved a wide band o2 sensor up the exhaust pipe and drove around town, country, track and circles while taking data. Then tuned and drove and tuned and drove until they were confident they had a good picture of the EVO map and SAFC data points "for the masses" on 93 octane gas. I think he has one for 91 also.

He made it clear, that the 90hp best increase was on a mixture of race gas and lean tuning designed for race day and racers. For less than 2K, he is getting a solid 70 to 80 hp increase with a "generic safe" fuel map and his mods. That is my understanding anyway. I'm curious what EGT's are when running through the traps.

although im am still curious in all the workings. I do have a question about mix and match deals, when dealign with setting up fuel maps and what not i am going to have to use all buscher parts to use there fuel maps, such as i can't get a RMR or HKS or RAlliiart exhaust and use a Buscher fuel map, semi retarded question but i want to be positive on my knowledge.

""The largest gain seemed to come from getting the boost up to 20 psi all the way to redline and some new AFC settings. The AFC really woke it up again but we have the car running leaner than we would like to see customers run on pump gas and on the street. The quality of fuel just varies so much. We will offer these settings to anyone that bought the AFC from us for RACING purposes only, I would suggest some race gas being dumped in just to keep it ultra safe. ""

Sounds like they tweaked it to me - its a race gas map

Going back to the comment on what type of dyno it was, it really doesn't matter waht it was for all i know it could have been a 1 wheel dyno as long as the numbers are consistant between runs and show the hp gains of tuning the dyno is doing it's job.

If your looking for a true all out how much power is my car making. Good luck take ur motor out and dyno it on a stand thats the only true way of finding that out. @ the wheel dyno's ALL lie, go read last months Turbo mag they took the same car to 7 shops and ever shop outputed different numbers..... I'm not even going to get into that

2wd dynojets == the braggers dyno
4wd dyno dynamics == the heartbreakers dyno

Dynapack and mustangs are close, but the mustangs read alittle higher. Dynojets read about 15% higher from what I've seen, even higher on 2wd units. I really wish there was only one brand of awd dyno used, life would be better.

Basically when companies convert an awd car to 2wd and strap it on a dynojet, they are looking for high horsepower numbers to use as marketing. Its good for business, theres so many suckers out there.

Al, you remember back before vishnu got their dyno dynamics and they were coverting wrx's to 2wd and posting charts to sell their stage 0's? Remember all the talk about 'how big is your horsepower' back then? This is the same thing...

Shiv didnt have anywhere else to dyno back then, bushur might not either, but it sure is a great way to make some amazing dyno charts to sell parts with!

Yes - especially when they are doing these runs on race fuel and run lean to the edge - - it means nothing to me as i always tune my car very safe as it is a daily driver and i do not feel like re-building my engine in the near future

As sone other guy posted above - whats more important is the before and after comparison - which I dont see here

What really always amazes me is the fools who think that one 3" exhuast can make more power than another one - - they are all within a few HP of each other - afterall its just a tube

When seleting an exhuast - the quality - the longivity and the quietness are always the most important features - along with the price
