Clutch choice Exedy or Tilton?

Okay the stocker is on its death bed. Currently I make 350whp/trq and will be getting alcohol soon so I'm looking for a clutch that can hold 400whp all day long. I do alot of daily driving with some dragging. My concern with the clutch choice is I need one that is slippable for daily driving and isn't harsh on the drivetrain. All input welcome. Thanks.

How often are you going to track/launch the car? If it is very seldom I would recommend the tilton hybrid.

If you are a little bit more aggressive kinda guy go with the tilton cermatallic. It takes some getting used to in daily driving but I can drive mine around town now pretty easily. Not stocker easily but if I remember to think about what I am doing it is no problem.

With 350 whp I am assuming you have cams, if this is the case be sure to tune the lumpiness out of the idle. Anything with a lighter flywheel ala tilton/exedy is going to make stalling out a nightmare with an untuned idle.

My tilton is very streetable. If you can put up with some extra noise this is the clutch for you. I have driven both clutches and Im glad I went with the tilton. The engagement is perfect, still slipable to a point. I put down 430ish hp on a MD which is closer to 500 on a dynojet and it holds perfect.

If you are looking for the best price on a tilton talk to Scott over at TTP (look at sig) or send him a PM.

I am tuned with HKS 280's. No autox for me just weekend drag once a month. I was looking at the tilton cerametallic not the hybrid.

Theres a difference in being tuned for WOT and tuned for idle on 280's. What does your vacuum read with the ac off? Where does it idle at ~900 ?

If al tuned it for Idle then you should be good to go. If you experience any problems though let me know. I've had to tune the idle on my car and several others now as I am noticing alot of tuners don't concentrate on this load area of the car.

The Exedy twin cerametallic is the best clutch that I have ever owned...no contest. It has held up to a few hundred launches, auto-x, Winded Warrior, and is very streetable to drive. Two years with alot of racing and about 7,000 street miles. There are others out there with MR 6 speeds that have had tranny problems and with this clutch my tranny is still in one piece. Very easy to engage and I can slip it as much as needed whenever needed.
