I don't think there are any legit cases of the stock headbolts stretching........ You will have 1 or 2 guys chime in probably but i think their full of it

Before doing headstuds, I would advise doing a search for oil leak after HS install. I did HS on mine and now I have an oil leak on the backside of my block.

Due to improper installation. Head studs aren't going to cause an oil leak, that is the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard.

The stock head bolts and gasket are going to handle a lot more power than most Evo owners will ever make. I wouldn't be surprised if they held at 550-600whp.

There's no harm in replacing the head studs if you're doing cams, but replace the head gaskets at the same time. Think about it.

the installation breaks the headgasket seal.

...ONLY depending on the monkey on the other end of the wrench. Timzcat has a good write up for those willing to search.

I did not do the ARP headstuds. I have read here of people getting leaks after installing them. Yes they are stronger studs, but the chances of getting the leak and having to go back in there to repair that are about 50%. If i ever go with a huge turbo at 26+psi then thats a whole different story.

That's bull****, I've seen Evo's with bone stock engines take 35 psi. 26 psi might have been the point that detonation occured and toased the gasket, but there isn't enough cylinder pressure at 26 psi to cause the factory bolts to fail.
