I don't think this is supposed to happen...

I have already contacted Jon@tre to see what my options are just thought I would share some of my woes on here.

This happened when removing the tranny for a clutch job. I have done this many times obviously without this result. We used a very small pry bar and very little force, it just came off. I am thinking it is due to a crack from a grease monkey at a mitsu dealer. The last time i removed the transfercase we could tell the bolts were way over torqued. 120+ on 80 ft/lbs rated bolts.

it should be able to be welded... dunno if it'll be weakened by the welding or by the fact that it was welded.

it also has ntohing to do with the qualify of mitsubitshi has to do with the dumbasses that wrench on cars across the nation.

A friend of mine did a lot more damage than that to his cast aluminum tranny case and it welded back up fine.

Thanks for the words of encouragement guys. I dropped it off at a local welding shop today. I just have to order the seals for it from TRE. The guy at the welding shop had me remove them as they would melt.
