Big Review : JunBL, Ultimate Racing, HPF
Big Review : JunBL, Ultimate Racing, HPF *PICS and VID*
Well first off i'd like to say thanks to Chad from JunBL, Tom from Horsepower Freaks and the guys at Z1 auto for the Ultimate racing stuff. The first piece i installed was the Lower Intercooler pipe from HPF. It felt great, i wasn't expecting much but the spool-up was improved dramatically with a little more punch on the low end. The upper pipe was the wrong one (flanged for a different BOV) so i had to wait for the correct one. No one told me this before but if you get an UICP that uses a mini battery, make sure it will fit with the stock intake. Mine did not
. So the intake is a little ghetto now but it works none the less. The UICP might have helped spool a little but the most noticable things it did was clear up a lot of room in the engine bay and change the sound of the BOV. Next up on the list was and Ultimate Racing Test Pipe and Downpipe mated to a JunBL exhaust system. I had the JunBL on before i put the other pieces on and let me say that it is very quiet and enjoyable to have. I never recieved a bad comment on it. The craftsmanship is 2nd to none. Well the hang up cam when trying to put on the DP. The stock DP, as most of you know, is made for a donut gasket....the UR one is not. I ended up finding a nice copper gasket that i could modify a bit to make it work. So i finally got both the pieces in after stripping the O2 housing and re-tapping it (which is a lot of work BTW). The DP and TP really livened up the top end. Where the car would taper off before seems much more linear now. The downfall is that when you hit boost you can hear me from about 2 miles away haha.
