maybe fuel cut off?

last night i was driving home and i decided to get on it so when i did everything was fine and i shifted into third and pressed on the accelator the car did this jerking motion like a i hit a wall so i lifted of immediatly and everything seemed to be alright so i dont know what that was thats why im asking you guys. i have tbe intake upgraded clutch and a utec. also my turbo sounds like it fluttering when im in 5th is this shaft play? any helpful insight would be greatly appreciated.

Ya hit boost cut and yes it does cut fuel. Once you hit around 23 Psi or so it cuts fuel because it doesnt want the car to overboost itself. it might just be happening due to the cooler weather. Do you have a boost controller? If so turn it down.

no i dont have a boost controller i need to get one im pushing 22 psi and i figured cuz of the cold it made me spike which led to me to hit fuel or boost cut off.

Yup! Theres your answer. Thats all that it is. It really sucks getting cold and having an MBC because i have to change it in the morning when i leave for school and then in the afternoon and then at night due to the temperature changes. Im thinking of picking up an electronic boost controller as i never had this problem with my Greddy Profec B on my 240sx.

Im guessing your talking about compressor surge? Its a common problem on the VIII's. Mine doesnt do it... Thank god! But since the Evo turbos are not ball bearing (so ive been told) it can harm the turbo. Find out whats causing it and try to fix it. If its not that bad then dont worry too much about it. Just get it fixed when you can.
