RNR 30r kit dyno #'s

All this was done on a mustang dyno

I pulled 275whp and 239 ft tq on 91 pump gas at 18psi. The crappy AZ gas wouldnt let me run any more boost. It kept knocking when we tried to raise the boost. I was disappointed with those #'s, but im thinking on buying a meth kit to help out my 91 map.

Then we drained out the 91 and through in some 104 and i pulled 383whp and 331ft tq on 26psi. It still has room for more. Im gonna take it back next week and tweak the 104 map a little more. I was happy with what it made and it was pretty safe. Im still on stock internals so we didnt want to push it too much. Im gonna try to run 28psi when i go back.

Mods include......

RNR GT30R turbo kit
invidia downpipe
UR testpipe
Tanabe 3" Ultra medalion exhuast
AEM intake
Walboro 255 fuel pump
Precision 780cc injectors
HKS BOV
AMS FMIC
AMS UICP
AMS small battery kit
Sun Automotive Cyber speed voltage and grounding kit

I would like to thank MYNES PERFORMANCE for the tuning. They did a great job.

i got one of these kit that i just installed couple ofnights ago. i must say it has some fitment issues. right now i have a exhaust leak on the dp and i need a better intake. im running 100 octane and when i dyno on dynojet whp was 413 and trq was 301 with these issues. what do you guys think once i fix the leak and get a better intake how much more of a whp do you think i will gain. i must see having a turbo it sure took out some fun in street driving since the car is so loud.

Yeah i had some fitament issues as well. I had to cut the radiator pipe cuz it was too long and as far as the downpipe to the rnr o2 housing, they dont use the doughnut gasket and any downpipe for an evo has the bell mouth because of that unless you get one made that doesnt. To slove this problem i used honda bond. Its like a liquid gasket. I think its the best on the market. I use that to mate my downpipe and o2 housing and i have had no leaks. As far as the intake i went to lancershop.com and bought a reducer coupler. The inlet on the 30r is a 4" inlet and my aem is a 3" intake. Get the 4" to 3" coupler. That is a low torque # though. I dont think the exhuast leak is affecting your #'s because it is a post turbo leak. It would be the same as running an open downpipe.

im confused, shouldn't you be able to run at least stock boost on 91, my car was tuned in Tucson, IX but anyway, 23 psi on crap Az gas, we went to 25 on pump but slight knock in high end, and i know IX have better knock resistance, just figured you could run at least 22-24 psi with that kit. Good luck.

Yeah thats what i thought too. The tuner said evertime he tried to boost higher than 18psi it started knocking. But if you are still running stock turbo than 23psi on that 16g and 23psi on my 30r are way different because the 30r flow alot more air.

He probably went aggressive on the timing; which is arguably a replacement for high boost. But yeah he is right, a 30r is going to flow way more air then the stock 16g, so 18 psi on a 30r is probably very similar to high boost number on the 16g, though i don't know the equation, so someone else will have to figure that out.

I think your race gas numbers look about right, but youre far behind on pump. Meth is your friend .

Also you have to remember that many people have ran low 30's psi of boost on 35r's and stock block without failure; which flows significantly more then the 30r. So don't be affraid to bump that boost and really put that turbo in its efficiency range on race gas. I think with more racegas tuning you should be able to hit 400 on that dyno. I dont see why not when you really could up the boost at least 3-4 psi.

Dynojet #'s:

362whp/318 ft.lbs. torque @ 22psi pump 90 octane

382whp/334 ft. lbs. torque @ 25psi with 90 octane & meth 50/50

401whp/369 ft.lbs. torque @ 26psi C16 (with some mis-firing issues 6500 rpm up, not yet straightened out, should get more once corrected)

I run the RnRGT30R kit as well and lastnight I ran 11.44 with a crappy 1.75 60ft time at 27psi on pump and alky(60%/Meth40%). Usually I cut 1.68s so I know on this tune it has 11.30s in it. My car is heavy (Stereo) and running 18" wheels too.

On my good runs I always seem to trap anywhere from 118-120, I have never ran past 27psi on the track but I seem to gain almost 1mph per psi of boost on a consistant pass.
