Fast Oil Filter
Fast Oil Filter
So I'm heading to the track today and I wanted to know if I need to change my oil. Its been running on the last oil for about 4000 miles and I have been driving it pretty hard due to road tuning. Just need to know if I should change my oil before going to the track. I've also ONLY been using the stock mitsu oil filter and was wondering if it is okay to use another brand from AutoZone or something(please list part number)? Thanks.

I change my oil every 2500 miles, call it pre-mature, I feel better doing it this way. If you are not going to use the Mitsu filters, use Mobil1 part # M1-104 or K&N part # HP-1004.

The M1-110 is the smaller filter. I run the Dodge Stealth Turbo or Mitsu 3000VR4 filter in my Evo (M1-104). It's larger than the M1-110, and looks like the filter that came with the car from Mitsu( in terms of size).

They both work fine, it's just preference.

LMAO, sorry. The M1-110 is what Mobil1 says is for the Evo. I chose to look up the Dodge Stealth or Mitsu 3000 and came up with the M1-104.
The K&N filter is a HP-1004. Sorry for the confusion.

Change your oil.
running at the track makes heavy demands on your oil. You want your oil to be as clean as possible when going to the track. I don't think your engine will explode, but older oil is dirtier oil which wears down the small delicate parts of your turbo and engine and over time will lead to a unhealthy engine. Just change it, shouldn't take you more than an hour.
and have fun at the track

I was at the machine shop getting a bearing pulled off a F-body differential case when I noticed one guy working on a 4G63. So I asked, "What happened to that engine?" "Bad oil", he says. "So what kinda oil should you use in a 4G63?', I asked. "Clean oil", he says.
