Best way to check knock

I want to install a knock meter in my car for added safety and have been trying to decide on what product to get.

I believe that the two most common used on this board are knock link and knocklite. Any suggestions will be much appreciated.

I use a tactrix cable and evoscan for some easy cheap data logging. Its not very sophisticated but it works for me :P

I think when Shiv tuned my car, he was listening for knock by using some headphones that had a small mic attached to the engine block somewhere, while inside the car on the dyno... pretty slick.

I have the knock link installed. aside from some crap-*** tech support from Link Electro, it's great. I installed mine in the plastic shroud above the instrument cluster and it works like a champ.

J&S has a new unit coming out that will change timing per cylinder. retards and then advances according to what it sees.
