ACT vs F1
ACT vs F1
Im a guy from the United Kingdom, got an Evo 8 FQ300 pushin 320bhp and 315ftlb. My clutch has just gone and im looking to upgrade as i will be pushin 380-420Bhp and about the same ftlb. Been looking at both the ACT MB7-HDSS and XTSS which seem good clutches. Some1 has also sed about F1 6 paddle clutch cant seem to find anything on the net but know there both US clutches.
Wondered if any of you guys would be able to help. Which way do you think is best ACT organic or F1 6 paddle???
Cheers

Its well documented that 6 puck clutches have pretty harsh engagement. For the drivability standpoint I think your typical upgraded organic street disc will be more than fine. I've not afforded the opportunity to go to the UK but i imagine street traffic isn't pleasant. On that end assume drivability will be an issue.
Some of course will disagree, some people burn through clutches like a pack of smokes, some can run a 600whp car on 1 clutch forever. So on that end you will equally find people saying pucks are a must for X horsepower and some saying you can live on street discs forever. If you have a friend with a racing 6 puck clutch in his car try driving it the experience will let you know how you really like it.
There is also more than just ACT though to choose from Exedy for example..

Cheers for ur input and ur right city traffic in the UK is a B@*^h so i was thinkin organic, other thing (for you guys runnin ACT clutches) is there alot of difference between the XTSS and HDSS apart from the amount of FtLb they can take?
Because of the extra clamp load offered by the XT pressure plate the pedal feel is stiffer compared to the HD pressure plate, but not unbearable. Buy the XTSS if you really need it,if not just get the HDSS.
