Car hops in 1st gear

whenever im at a stop, and i begin to slowly let go of the clutch, the car feels like it hops. it only happens during first while taking off.

I have a racing clutch. and everything else is stock.

anyone have any idea? ive been told it might me the pressure plate, maybe a out of center clutch, motor mounts, and even internal transmission.

This is normal. I have a Exedy twin disk, and my car does the exact same thing. In fact, every all wheel drive mitsubishi car I have ever driven does this (I have driven LOTS). You need to slip the clutch better (let go of the clutch slower) and apply more gas.

I think Im having the same problem right now. But mine started out of the blue about a week ago. Feels like a mount to me, but Scott said it could be a TC issue. I need to get under it and look around. Fing annoying.

that not really normal... have someone check your motor mount especially the rear. Maybe whoever did your clutch forgot one.

My stock clutch started doing it after 8k and now my exedy twin is doing it to .
I found this happenes most of the time when my wife is with me and iam trying to "be easy" and drive without jerking her around .
If i slip the clutch less it dosnet do it as bad .

Mine did that when my rear motor mount was loose. Check that for sure. Tighten it.

If you have an aftermarket clutch (especially a twin disk) it is normal. Motor mounts (and a stiffer suspension) seem to help. You shouldn't have to disconnect a motor mount to do a clutch on the Evo.

I am on my stock clutch still and it does this in 1st. It is more of a shake than a hop for me. Only happens when I let off the clutch slowly.

Are we talking about actual wheel hop or are we referring to the feeling you get when your flywheel needs to be resurfaced or changed?

to be honest with you, if you have ever raced a front wheel drive car, its feels like when you rev it upto like 4k, and released the clutch, it hops for a couple of feets..

Motor mounts are tight, i triple checked everything! One question though, when i press the clutch, and i shift into 2nd, and i give the car gas,(and let go of the clutch) i feel the clutch, slowly creep up, i adjusted the clutch like 10 times!

we;ll see.

man you always answer questions as if you know what your talking about. No motor mounts when taking off a tranny? Are you ****ing serious? ???? The tranny has 2 mounts. My twin disc Tilton does not make my car hop so you are wrong.
