Let my brother drive the car today. Basically he went in 1st gear up to 5krpm and shifted too fast, almost like dumping the gear to second. There was a large thump, felt like as if we just ran over a big speed bump/pothole at high speed. 1st time that happened to any car. Is that a cause for concern? I know from everyone is saying about the evo that it has a weak drive tran. Oh BTW, the car is stock.

 

Hes droping the clutch too early, nothing is wrong i just think its his shifting.

Probably the rear diff. The evo drivetrain is pretty strong when driven properly.
