I crashed my car(front left) not long ago and for some rare phenom or planet alignment, another member had an 06' RS for sale in perfect condition, well, except for a small dent from a Mercedes plowing through the passenger side doors and lower frame. I bought the car for pennies and I am about to start the conversion from a VIII MR to a VIIII MRS. Everything seems to be a bolt-off bolt-on swap, except for the ABS. Can anybody help me out with this one? Do I need a non RS engine harness or ABS software or something that I do not have? Thanks for any help.

I believe you'd need the IX ECU and harness... not 110% sure but that's my hypothesis...

btw "VIIII" doesn/t exist, "9" in roman numerals is "IX" (1 before 10 = 9)

Yes, but do I need a IX harness that is ABS capable? I bought the entire car, so I have everything to drop el motoro into a RS, but my auto has ABS.

The viiii was a little humor, as was the MRS

 

just take the 9 engine harness and the 9 motor. the ABS harness from the VIII should be seperate from the engine harness. should be really straight forward. which trans are you going to run?

 

Thank you, thank you, thank you. The three dealerships that I spoke to could tell me nothing useful. It was like doing the 'who's on first' routine with all three of them asking me for the vin numbers and me telling them over and over that the two cars have different harnesses and ecu's. I am not sure yet about what tranny to go with. If EvoM is finished with it's mantinence, I will know by Sunday.
