Exhaust Manifold worth it?

Hey,

I'm planning out an exhaust system for my IX... I was looking at the Helix V2 Downpipe, High Flow Cat, and Catback...

My question is... do I spring the extra ~$300 and get a stainless manifold & O2 housing?

I was going to get a custom Dynoflash Tune in the summer, and I hate the rusted stock manifold...

Thanks in advance.

maybe not the stainless mani, depending on quality, but the O2 is a must, what a difference it made in my car. i also installed the buschur ported coated stock manifold.... very nice improvement.

IMO - o2 housing is deffently worth it. A aftermarket exhaust manifold isn't worth the money unless you are bolting up a bigger turbo. You can get your stock manifold ported for much less.

+1 made a difference on mine and I also helped w/ the install on a few other evos and heard nothing but good reviews from them....

go w/ a ported stocker....no ss mani is worth it unless it has a lifetime warranty but then you'll end up spending close to $1K

stock 2g eclipse ported manifolds have been in the 9s on dsms. I can't see an evo being any worse.

Another question... is all exhaust wrap pretty much the same? There's a bunch of cheap crap on eBay , Buy it Now for $10.... and the name brand for like... $100.

Don't get exhaust wrap...it will just trap water and salt and dirt which will eventually corrode your exhaust...if you really want to do something about the heat get it ceramic coated on the inside and outside...exhaust gases travel faster when they're hotter

I don't see aftermarket mani's being much worth, unless you're going for big power.

I can see maybe a port/polish being worthwhile though.
