Actually our dyno is configured just like EVERY other Mustand Dyno should be and is shipped to the customer. Problem is a lot of shops don't want to live with the lower numbers and they screw with the dyno to make it look better. Changing the parameters is VERY easy to do. We just refused to mess with ours and have learned to live with the lower numbers it spits out.

I was on Doug's Dynopower's Mustang Dyno when I was out in Vegas last year, I was on it twice. I tuned two cars that ended up coming to Ohio and then put them on my dyno. The two dyno's read the same. The numbers I saw when I was there tuning were in line with what I expected.

And seems to indicate that at least as many Mustang dyno operators fiddle with the settings (unfortunately) than not.

So, we can conclude that configured with the original settings, Mustangs read very closely to Dyno Dynamics dynos, and this is expected.

I did NOT set up Doug's dyno, where did you get that information? MD set it up as they do all of them, at the factory when they are built.

I'm sorry. He told me thats why he couldnt dyno my car when he first got it. He was waiting for you to come set it up initially for him. Not install it...but he said you were the man.

But I waited for many months and nothing ever happened...so someone else tuned my car. Of course the engine is blown now

You can jack up a DD dyno just as easily as a Mustang. And there's a DJ here in SoFla that reads super high even for a DJ. A buddy's truck made 298whp on a DD at one shop and a couple weeks later made 375 on the aforementioned DJ without changing anything on the truck.

The point is, hp should be looked at in terms of gains made on the same dyno and that's it. If you want to have a pissing contest with someone over who has more hp, then take it to the track, the trap speeds will pretty much tell you who won the hp battle as long as vehicle weight is considered.

Now, can someone PLEASE GET THIS POST BACK ON TOPIC?!

The new 20GLT, we have been running to 32-33 psi, which is really likes and then just letting it taper off, typically 27 psi or so up top. I've run my RS even higher in boost and this new turbo will actually continue to make power up to 35 psi.

.

David

Thanks for the good information.
That is what I am hoping to do with this turbo. Let it hit 32 psi and let it drop where ever it wants to drop. This would only be done at the track, not on a day to day basis. I am sure it will settle at around 27+ psi by read line.
Just for the record, I don't go around runing 29 psi week in and week out. Only on Dyno/Track or special occasions. You can count with one hand the times my stock turbo has seen 32+ psi.

Ted,

I am not going to comment on you making 350 plus whp and 380 plus Tq. on a stock TME Turbo with pump fuel at 19 psi. peak boost. If you dit it, .

By the way, I was posting those 2 pics to show boost can be held at over 7K. with the stcok turbo.
There are many that say it can't be done. Hot air or not, that was not the point I was trying to make. And I never mentioned how I made my HP.
I made my power at 27.4 lbs of boost peak and 22 and change at redline. On a totally different run/log. Having a fuel issue, where I had to make corrections and add fuel on the Dyno due to me usinng oxigenated fuel. And, ten other evo owners waiting on me to dyno their cars. There is only so much you can do on 4-5 dyno runs. I had to re-flash the car right before the lasdt pull and take timing out from 6K to 7900K and time was up. So what it was, it was. Still, fair numbers on a day where the inside temps were 110 degrees. I never post reasons for why this or that. But, since alot here are so bad to the bone, now you know may be I could have done better, but yet, to this day I am happy how it turned out.

Last thing on Doug's dyno. Mustang Dyno actually flew two techs out to his place on two seperate occasions to get everything up and running and calibrated. By the time I went out there it was all done. I just tuned a few cars on it. Apparently from some things that just happened, I tuned 1 car less than I should have on it.

Just so you know Forced Performance DOES NOT call these turbos 20gLT's, so it is incorrect in your signature. It is a Forced Performance EVO GREEN.

Very nice though and thanks for posting this up.

Sale on these turbos ends today.

We were running a sale on the turbos, the sale price ended on the 12-22-06.

We are ABSOLUTELY selling these turbos still, just back to normal pricing.

Hitting the track when it opens, probably April.
