Custom turbo kit idea cheap....does it look like a nice setup?

I plan on buying a rev hard manifold.....t3 with 38mm wastegate flange from

www.ersauto.com for about $290 shipped

38mm wastegate for $215 from nolimitmotorsports.

02 housing and wastegate dump pipe from buschur for $350

That is the same manifold Turbonetics sells but it is a lot more money through them. Atleast it looks identical.

If it is then we have an 02 housing, dumptube kit for it so you can bolt a 5 bolt T3 housing right on and it will work with any downpipe.

If you wanted just the 02 housing and dumptube kit I'd sell them sepeately, all SS, flanges and all. They'd be $350.

And 50 trim turbo from agp.....t3...5 bolt...1350 for dual ball bearing and 850 for none ball bearing..not sure need alittle help on which a/r would be best and everything....but if you think about it it comes out cheap

290+350+1350+215=$2365 plus cost of oil lines for a dual ball bearing 50 trim kit

or 1865 for a non ball bearing 50 trim it has everything it need to work but will it work is my question .....i dont see why it wouldnt.

If i were you I would just save up an extra $800 and get the GT35R kit from Buschur. Its a way better kit, plus he has a reputation. And he is here to help if any problems occur...

i was thinking about doing this too
http://cheapturbo.stores.yahoo.net/gatu.html

your get riped off for the turbo
non bb 50 trim turbos new are only $600 and in generall are preatty small turbos. i had one on my integra and its too small
i would just get a gt3076r

dont forget u need biger injectors and you should get a bigger intercooler. a $120 ams copy intercooler on ebay should be fine

A+ for trying to build a kit yourself

if i had to pick from building my own kit and buying a buschur kit i would definatly build my own kit.

whats 290$ ? the gate? i sell tial 38mm gates for 215$ shipped, i hope thats not what your buying for 290$

I also sell the same precision 50 trim turbo for less too!!!

and you still need an intake pipe, lower intercooler pipe and lines. probably gonna be about another 400$ but yea its still a good idea

Considering a 50trim and 3076 flow similar amounts of air and 50trim results have been better I would consider this bad advice.

i was going to say, your 2300 price is the same as buschurs 50 trim with all of the fixins, and it is guaranteed to make power and fit... not to say piecing together your own kit is not a good idea, but saying you definitely need to look more places for parts.... seems like steve at no limit proved that point

I like you're idea of piecing together a custom turbo kit. I'm not sure why there aren't any good threads about thiws that actually work. The combination I have been looking at is the DNP manifold w/ external wastegate mounted to the ATP turbo kit. The ATP kit would have to be modified to run the external gate since it is rerouted. If the DNP manifold reaplaced the stock manifold and fit just like stock, it might work since the ATP manifold uses the stock manifold. Here are pics of both.

i think youd be better off going with something like i am just cause you need a block off plate on the housing of the atp, it cost more, you still have the atp housing...which will lagg alittle more...and youll still need a wastegate dump pipe

the atp kit is for use with the factory twin scroll manifold. so the t3 header from dnp is not the one to use. i'm sure you probally know that dn does make a header that works with the stock turbo, thus being able to work with the atp kit.

building your own kit is really not that hard or expensive. us dsm guys have been doing it for years. the only thing i can vouch for is it does take alittle bit of enginuity(sp) and patience. having a good tig welder or even a mig welder also comes in handy.

p.s. also when you do get around to building your own kit don't get discouraged if it doesn't go together smoothly. i can honestly say that i have installed some professional shop built stuff and even that was a pain in the *** to install.
