Clutch and Restrictor Removal?
So after 2 years of abuse and launching my stock 05 GSR after about 30k the clutch is finally taking a poop on me. So after speaking with a few EVO-NY members I have decided with my power goals in mind. I’m going with an ACT street clutch kit and stick flywheel. But my real question is and keep in mind my whp goal is about 300-350 daily driven but it will on occasion be taken to the track and put to the test. So that being said should I remove the clutch restrictor? Is worth it in the long run?

Well thanks spoke to a old buddy of mine and I think I'm going to take it out. My buddy had the exedy twin plate in his 03 and he took the restrictor out he had no problems daily and he launched that car for about 30k probably more so than most of us
the restrictor pill is inside the slave cylinder and restricts the amount of fluid flowing inside to slow down the engagement of the clutch if you side step/drop the clutch. Its another one of mitsu's ways of trying to keep stupid people from destroying tranny's and transfer cases

since your down there you should change the clutch line out for a ss braided one...
you'll get more consistent clutch engagemeng/disengagement and they're pretty cheap too

The Clutch restrictor is one of, if not, THE reason, EVO clutches wear so quiclkly.
Its the "safety valve" in the drive train. And if you think about it, the clutch is probably the cheapest part of the drive chain to be replaced.
If you remove the restrictor, you will get more life out of the stock clutch, and therefore any aftermarket ones.

I'm going to search the howto section to see how its done.
