ACT carbon multi disc clutch.....

I was looking through my Super Street magazine I received in the mail today and came across an article that was showing products that were on display at the '06 SEMA show in Las Vegas. The number 2 pic is a multi carbon clutch for "high horsepower Mitsu Evos." Just thought Id share and see what type of reaction this will cause in the evo community. I know I will personally try one of these out cause Ive had nothing but great experiences w/ all of ACT's products in the past

OT - saw that GReddy has cams for the MIVEC too

I'm glad to see an American company with a proven track record push the technology higher. I wonder if there will be twin plate offerings for earlier 4g63?

I got to see this at SEMA.

We should be getting some of the first ones available. It is a sweet clutch. Here is our pic from SEMA.

No pricing or exact info is available yet. But this is a Full carbon this means no metal floaters making for a super light clutch with super high heat capabilities.

ACTman, where you at? i'd like to see if they'll come out with a non-carbon twin-disc(similar to exedy)for street driven evos.

I don't like to toot my own horn so honestly I was just waiting for someone to ask about it after the Sema show. We should have these available in late February. We have been testing carbon and other materials for many years in the lab, on the dyno, at the track, and this particular configuration on the EVO for a couple months. This clutch is meant for high HP and high abuse, drag, track and street friendly. It is a true carbon on carbon clutch with 8.5" discs so it I estimate that it can take just about whatever you can dish out. It should have a long lifespan but we plan on making them rebuildable as well. We are still working on the pricing, etc. Sorry, but they won't be cheap. We have also been testing a carbon/carbon clutch for the DSM which we will be releasing in February as well as a few others in the next coming months. Here is a link to a So Cal Evo RRE thread regarding the prototype testing on the EVO clutch:

i just read about it also in the new super street. Even though i love the MB7 HDSS with the prolight flywheel i just installed a couple weeks ago i would have been very interested in this set up. But i guess i had no choice but to act (no pun) intended)fast as my clutch had nothing left on it.
