94 octane over 92 octane??
Ok heres the scoop. I live in Seattle, Washington and there are a few gas stations that sell 94 octane gass. (Cenex Valley Supply) I believe they get their gas from within the US, in the midwest. Anyhow this gas is 94 octane but contains 10% Ethanol. The other choice i have is good ol' Chevron Blue 92 which doesnt have any ethanol in it i believe....
I've heard alchohol or ethanol can be bad on the rubber components in the fuel system. Smart Service, WA. was telling me this... but I dunno... But is it bad on any other part of the engine and/or fuel system? Should I run this 94 octane over the Chevron 92? Im really anxious because Shiv is coming up to Oregon soon to do some tuning with the Xede... and I don't know if I want the 94 octane tune, or a 92 octane tune....

Cool! I will just come with 92 then.... There is only one 94 gas station nearby, so that will be cool if I can toggle back and forth between maps!
Shiv - should I come down with an EBC or leave the stock boost controller on? I kinda want to hold 19+ psi to redline...but only if its safe..

Shiv, I would definitely like a little more aggressive map on mine for higher octane once in a while too. I occasionaly mix a couple gallons of 104 Sunoco on top of 92. How would one switch the XEDE between these two maps? Would you need a laptop for that or can you toggle easily between two maps?

This is not true, ethanol is only bad on the very lowest grade of rubber (in the sense of none synthetic rubber). The rubber in modern cars is more than able to be exposed to ethanol. I believe the only person would be affected by running a mix of ethanol would be a 1960's ford truck
