best twin-plate??
The Tilton is hands down the best twin clutch on the market. The thing that people don't factor into the decision is how much each clutch costs to rebuild. The Tilton will go 4 rebuilds for almost nothing. It comes with a thin and a thicker set of steels. You start with the thin ones, and when wear takes you out of spec, you just replace the thins with the thicks. When you wear again, you resurface the posts, and put the thins back in and you're right in spec. When they wear again, in go the thicks.
On top of that, a number of racers whose names you would know have gone entire seasons and hundreds of runs without even needing the first rebuild.
The Tilton is the only true carbon/carbon clutch, which is why it costs more, but if you have a high horsepower car, it's the only real option in the long run.
Did I mention the mechanical superiority of the hydraulic release mechanism?

here is an exedy.. I think the exedy is a great daily driven twin disk, its fairly quiet, doesnt register as engine noise etc

actually, pull type mechnisms are supposed to be the most "effective" design... where do i learn this you ask, we worked with AP/tilton/etc.. on the lmp cars.
only using the clutch to leave the pits rocks!

How many mile should someone expect to get out of the Exedy twin used for daily driving with 400whp? Maybe twice a year each to the dragstrip and road track. I know mileage will vary considerably but I just want to know if these things are supposed to be rebuilt every 10K miles or if they will go 30Kmiles or longer without needing to be rebuilt.
Have you guys looked at the Cusco Twin? It's basically the Exedy unit but with some custom improvements by Cusco (supposedly to improve disc life). Best news is IT'S LESS EXPENSIVE! Give us a call we're doing the Cusco for much less.

I would stick with the Quartermaster. I've never seen that clutch break a T-case. You can get them at www.devotuning.com. And you don't have to worry about the clip popping off as well. 1650.00 Comes with full clutch and a Hydraulic TOB. Lighter then stock pedal pressure too.
I believe it is not sold by Exedy USA, for what reason I don't know. It is like the SD, with a little stronger pressure plate, unsprung hubs, and a lightened (holes drilled in it) flywheel. I forget the specs, but it weighs something like 5-10# less than the SD or HD.
So far I can tell you it is awesome, but LOUD AS HELL! Downshift and come into a corner at 6000 RPMS and you better be wearing ear plugs. Because the hubs are unsprung, it transmits EVERY little bit of drivetrain noise to the cabin. My rear diff has a lot of play in it and sounds like a box of rocks. With this clutch it sounds like 3 boxes of rocks.
It also whines alot on engagement. But, I love it!
