Found two exhaust cams in the car.
I just found out yesterday when installing the BC 272s into my car that I have two exhaust cams and been running like that for more than 3 years. They were installed by a vendor when I got the car back in 03.
When we open the cam gears cover, we found that it was unusual that the gears timing marks were not align but up side down. After scratching our heads for a while, we found that there were 2 exhaust cams installed. I can't believe a vendor did this to me and I paid $600 for the cams back then.
There were some unusual issues when tuning the car back then like: it's a little laggy on stock turbo comparing to others, its torque and power curve sudden drop right around 5500-6000 rpms before picking up again, it was not making good power like others... I'm not sure if it has anything to do with this mismatch cams stuff but I'm very upset.
Can anyone tell me what happen, in theory or practical, if two exhaust cams installed in the car? I had 264 exhaust installed on the intake and the 272 exhaust. Thanks.
Pics are up.
One with the cam gears timing marks 180 degree apart.
One with the exhaust cams with cut on head for the sensor (the intake cam didn't have the cut but I'm also seeing the actual intake cam before and know how it looks like).
The last one is showing the head looked ok to me.

I thought they could only go one way...
The intake cam is usually shorter than the exhaust cam.
The exhaust cam is usually longer as it's threaded at the other end for the cam sensor.
But Sh*T happens...let's us know how it goes.

That's F*cked up.
I would think the car would barely run that way. I guess if they were installed 180 degrees out the timing would be close but, I'm still pretty surprised it ran worth a crap.
I'd take one of those cams and beat the vendor over the head with it. Then jam the other one up their cornhole for doing some stupid ghetto sh*t like that. I mean that isn't an easy "whoops" type thing that involves doing some serious half *** sh*t during the install. Which means they are either completely incompetent or just don't care.

I was just into mine the other day, I think it would be possible because there is nothing where the angle sensor would be if it were on the intake side, so the cam is longer but it might still fit, it does aparently lol

They were actually f*ckup my car (bent all the valves and sh*t) but fixed it then so I keep my mouth shut since I don't want to ruin people business. Now that I found out that they still put those 2 wrong cams into my car, I'm very upset.
So my car was running like sh*t all those years and the tuners keep wonder what's wrong with the car. My power band is really short and there is a significant drop in power between 5500-6000 rpms.

No! I fixed it already (I trust myself that I'll not put 2 exhaust cams in my car :-)). I shared my experience so that you know sh*t like this happened and people should check their cams to make sure they get what they should. :-)
On the other hand, the car is running very good with BC 272s even it's still on the old tune. It full strong, consistent and linear. I'll retune and update.
