Really, if you upgrade to a colder plug then you get some sort of benefit. I really don't think it's that much of a benefit for the cost. But running the stock plugs on a stage 1 upgrade is just fine. You won't hurt anything.

ROFLMAO, its no wonder no thread around here ever has a definitive answer for the orriginal question asked. It gets so off base with everyone elses setups the original poster never gets a great answer.

Sounds like the stock copper NGK replacements are the way to go for the ORIGINAL question in this post

NGK BPR7ES

Which plugs should I put on my Duramax?

Or you can go with the BR7ES's. I'm not sure if there is a price difference between the protruding electrodes and non-protruding???

FYI, when I switched to BPR7ES plugs from BR8ES plugs, my knock counts went up. A very smart guy on here Aby (screen name WOT) tunes Honda race engines for a living. He runs iridium 9 plugs on his DD Evo...because he gets them free from work. So, technically, you can run any plug you want. But I think colder plugs are better...especially on det prone gas like 91.

Everyone is going to have different opinions. Iknow some tuners who recommend the protuding plugs and some who don't. I've had good luck with the BR8ES plugs gapped to .024
