Today I discovered my gauge either doesn't work or oil pump died. Don't know yet. Hopefully its just the gauge. 03 Evo with 30k miles. Car came with sport comp Autometer gauges(from previous owner I guess). Oil light didn't come on though. Could it be the sending unit just crapping out? I heard no ticking or knocking noise either.

 

My guess is the sending unit. Either the nut fell off along with the sensor wire, happend to me, or the unit it toast.

 

The connector on the sensor wire broke off. Replaced it and all is good!

the sending unit usually goes bad... I was on number 2 sending unit
