Newbi question here about Evo PSI..

Whats is needed to run 23 psi safely on the car(light to no mods)...so far all im picking up is a manual boost control to keep the boost steady

Depends on the year and octane.

Is there a reason why you want to run 23psi specifically? Wouldn't you rather just do whatever mods you plan on doing and run whatever boost is optimum for those mods based on your octane, your tuner, the year Evo you have, and your location? That would probably be the best approach.

I saw alot of guys running 23 psi on here for some reason,i dunno im new to all this. Im not even sure what the stock psi is. Ill probably have a catback, K&N drop in, and a mail order tune for awhile, ill be in NJ, guess what im asking is whats the highest psi can I run on the stock turbo safely, and what do I need to adjust that. Or will the tune automatically bump that? Ill probably try to find the lowest price model(which is the RS)

^ Sweet answer.

There is nothing magical about 23psi. Ask your tuner when the time comes how much boost you can safely run. You have much to learn but at least you are on the right path (evo>z28). There is a plethora of info in the archives which can be reached through searching

evo>z28
well thats a personal preferance, I still love my american muscle and I know those cars in and out, but w/ the fbody gone its really either an evo, a srt-4(cant stand front wheel drive) , newer cobra(which i still might decide on), or a LS2 GTO. So a fuel pump and I can safely bump up the psi at the tune, sounds good.
