So what other mods do you have to run the E85, or are you just dumping it in and going for it? Fuel system is what I am referring to.

The traps backup the dyno number - I like seeing that. I guess the really high trap (119.9) was induced by major tirespin whereas the other lower traps were due to hooking a little better. All very strong for the mods and weight, though. Just put it in the wrong forum!

Strong times, Lucas, for those mods, particularly with those 60 foots. Congratulations!

I've heard of the praises of E85, but I wondered is it as simple as just dumping it in your fuel tank or does the fuel system have to be modified to run it? I'm thinking it (fuel system) has to be modified.

I've only read, retuning, spark plugs, 720 - 780cci inj and a 255 fuel pump up-grades are needed to run E85 on a Stock Turbo Evo.
No one really posts up more then that.

Those are the requirements for having enough fuel and spark, but we're asking about the modifications to the fuel system that allow for this type of fuel. It typically requires a complete overhaul unless our fuel system was made from the factory to handle this type of fuel, which would be nice. I don't think 780s are enough either - Lucas here was maxing them out.

Wow I am totally confused by this thread. I mean I know E85 is great, but I didn't know it was that great. I cannot recall another 2003/2004 stock turbo and the smaller hotside VIII running 11s even with race fuel (not with these limited amount of mods). I mean it's possible with some awesome driving, but your trap speeds are just wow! I mean look at your 60 foots, even I cut better 60s than that and I am a horrible drag racers. I mean I just am amazed at these times and traps, I just didn't know E85 was this great.

3000ways, people have hit deep 11s and have trapped 119-120 on the 9.8 with bolt-ons + cams + race gas, so this isn't new, but it's also not common.

Your right they have, not common but it has been done before. I guess I just have forgotten some of the 2003 and 2004 EVO times.

All I have done to my fuel system is 780's and 255hp. So far 500mi and no problems

I have a friend with a 1g GVR4 that has put 1000s of mi on with E85 and no problems yet stock fuel system with a 255hp.

I am using all my 780's. If I did not have the inj around the shop I would have bought 880 for it.

I think I have everything listed about my car that is done to it.

I feel the E85 tunes out like 105oct gas but will make about 20hp more for the same tune. If you are on a big turbo setup you cant push it near as hard as you can on C16. I think the stuff is just right for maxing out a stock turbo though.

Like on Ifarted2 car we got about 30psi and 560whp and we started to pick up knock. Porbably could have gotten 600whp if we spent more time tuning.

Point here is the stuff is awsome but dont toss it in and think you can tune like you are on C16 because it is not that awsome.

I can see how an Evo may have a good enough fuel system for E85, but a '91 GVR4 - that just makes no sense. From what all I've read, you REALLY have to ensure the entire fuel system is able to handle the E85, so I'm very surprised that a GVR4 has gone thousands of miles with no corrosion.

Will I will let you guys know if we have any problems but I have not ever seen 1bit of corrosion from ethanol. Now Methanol I have seen lots of corrosion.

I ran a good 100gal through my talon last year with no signs of corrosion.

I really think if its going to cause problems it will take many years and 1000s of gallons. So no one really knows untell we just find out for ourself.

good stuff, that high 119 was very likely from spinning but either way great job...
