clutch went out today

clutch went out today

Ok my clutch went out today and the dealership said that they do a stock clutch and install for 908

387 for parts stock clutch dont have time to save the money its a dd
521 for labor

Is this a good or bad deal?

labor for clutch is usually high as it takes 4-5 hrs to do the install.

If you have any tuners around (that work on the EVO) ask them how much it will cost. Parts you can probably call around and see if some dealership sells 'em for cheaper than what your dealership is quoting you.

You can contact TKMotorsports.com as they are in NC, maybe they can help you out with an aftermarket clutch and install.

They are in Northern NC, not exactly sure where you are located in SC though.

why would you put the stock clutch in again? doesnt make sense as the are known to be weak. and you can get a act or something for the same price installed.

the act clutches are 200 bucks more so it would be about 1100 instead of 900

That sucks Brandon...have you tried to call Topspeed? I remeber them having some special not too long ago with the ACT clutch and install for 1g.

how long did the stocker last?

if it lasted you a while and you liked it, stick with it save some money...


but if you launch every day.. the look into a better clutch and sign up for couple C.C. =-p

400-500 for clutch is around the normal depending on whether it includes fluids and such...
