no lift shift??

Does anyone here no lift shift in their evo? If so are parts breaking any faster or is everything holding up, I am just interested in peoples feedback who practice this driveline abuse.
I have a fully built T.R.E tranny and it seems to take it like it wants more.

Are your axles upgraded? you'll need a little bit more than a built tranny, You can do it but I wouldn't do it all the time.

no stock axles, I would rather replace them as they break.

Yeah, I no-lift on every shift at the drag strip and have done it for a while. On my stock clutch and then with the ACT HDSS, i was only able to do the 3-4 effectively, but once I got my Exedy, I was able to do every gear with a no-lift effortlessly. I never busted anything while doing this, but I did lose 4th gear while road racing, but that was due to the weak 4th gear in the 6spd. I now have a built Shep 5spd, and I can no-lift every gear without thinking twice.

I do it as well when driving aggressively or when AutoX'ing. This type of shifting is called "power shifting" btw. I have a twin plate too and have 0 problems so far...

I think with the Evo 9 it is built to take this "no lift" shifting. I said that because of the built in two step from the factory. It also help keep you in boost between gear.

How do you shift like this? Do you just push in the clutch, shift and let out the clutch as fast as you can without letting go of the gas?

Someone correct me if Im wrong... The two step only works in 1st gear, at a stop, and is also on the VIIIs. Ive been messing with mine, had it set to 3700, and if it worked all the time, Id be bouncing off the rev limiter EVERY time I shifted.

Absolutely not. The 2-step is not specific to IXs - all USDM Evos have it, and it only activates while stationary. The Evo is not built to be no-lift shifted.

I have over 250 runs at the drag strip and tons of autocross runs. I don't do it when road racing, but I do it on every shift at the drag strip and during autocrosses as long as I'm pointing straight during the shift.

it never hurt my stock trans with stock clutch, ACT HDSS, and Exedy 4-puck. I don't expect it to hurt my built Shep trans with Twin Carbon either. I don't have that much power, though.

Why do you have your 2 step set at only 3700. I have mine set at 6200 for the track. It is at 5200 stock? I no-lift at the track and I love it
