Getting Revolvers to run ok with the stock ECU is simply a matter of retarding the intake cam and widening the LSA (as you've found). As for the best setting for the drags, just follow what I outlined above.

ted

you said

Advancing the exhaust cam isn't going to solve anything if you're looking for the best trap speeds.

So long as retarding both cams makes an improvement, keep doing it. When you determine the point of diminishing returns, advance the exhaust cam 1 degree at a time until you get no further improvement. When you reach that point, you are set.

Injector timing is something that is rarely discussed, but obviously, changing cam timing changes injector timing.

now i have my intake cam gear at -2 for idle and stock ecu reasons. should i change this and start retarding the exhaust cam???? im a little confused here.

No, you should retard the intake and exhaust cam simultaneously until you reach the point of diminishing returns, then gradually advance the exhaust cam from that point and gauge the difference.

Went up to the track tonight, poor results. Loaded up the cal file that got me 120 mph last saturday, went high 118. From there it just got worse. The car made half a dozen passes at 116 mph with all kinds of cam gear settings. Intake cam from 0 to -6 degrees had very little effect on trap speed. I'm going to try taking more out of the exhaust cam since that's the only thing that's had any positive effect. I'll attempt to do what you have outlined Ted, I like the sound of that particular strategy. On the last run I took out 2 degrees of timing and got back to 118.x mph, LMAO. I'll drop timing a bit and get back on 11.5:1 AFRs for the cam gear testing. I'm glad I've got another thing to try before I rip these POS cams out of the car.

In other news, the BR Race FMIC did well, temp rise is less than 5 degrees up to the end of third gear, and at the end of fourth it typically puts on a total of 15 degrees over the whole run. Not bad. No real performance gain over the 24x12x3.5 garrett core in the SBR kit, but I'll take it. Also with the Shep Tcase in, I can finally launch again. It was raining when the track opened so traction was poor, but I got back into the 1.6s on the snow tires which is nice. Launching hard or more moderately, and shifting like a madman or just moderatly quick had no appreciable effect on trap speed, as usual. Boost was still holding 29+ psi at redline with a peak of 32.

I'll be back up at the track on Wednesday.

some of the PMs I had with Revolvers before they went silent .. Hope this helps out other guys with problems..

If you want more vacuum and a better idle run them at -4/-2 but you miss out on a bit of top end power.
The slight stagger (with cam gears) helps the idle tremendously. We find that the best torque on small turbo cars is had with -2/0 (intake/exhaust) and bigget turbos like -4/-2.

This is something I could not get .. Dialled at 25* BTDC .. it closed at 70* .. dial at 63* .. it opens at 33* ????
If you have your gears set at zero the intake opens at 25*BTDC and closes at 63*ATDC
