Ya, so ugh, my car is throwing a P0442. I know its( Evaporative Emission Control System Leak Detected (small leak)), but I don't know where to find this. Any one have any clues to where this is?

did u tighten the gas cap tight enough? it can cause the code if the cap is not tight enough. if it tight enough then somewhere in the EVAP system there a leak.

it capture the gas fume inside the fuel tank and rout it back to the engine to burn instead of releasing it to the outside.

I have the same exact issue with my mom's Lancer. It's throwin the same exact code. Disconnected the battery for a few minutes, made sure the gas cap was tightened, and the light came on again after a day of driving.

Ya, this is the 3rd time it came on, I originally thought it was a misfire code, but I scanned it with my friends creader and its still there. It likes to come back. I'll take a more in depth look tomorrow.

usually the gas cap is the easy fix, bummer that its not working for you!

mine came on last week, but i just retightened the gas cap, cleared the code and so far no problems.
