Is the EVO throwout bearing the same one used on STI's?

I am having my clutch replaced tomorrow, and I was unable to get a new throwout bearing in time. Two dealerships by me did not have it in stock and had to be ordered and would not have made it in time for my appointment. The shop that will be installing my clutch does have an STI throwout bearing, and the shop said that they are pretty sure it is the same piece, but to verify from anyone else that knows and has used the part on the other car.

I talked to two people who have installed clutches, and although they are not 100% sure either, they too are pretty sure it is the same piece since our OEM throwout bearings are pull types made by Exedy.

If anyone knows, the info would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

I though we had different systems than the Sti. Don't they run push and we run pull? I could be wrong

Thanks Chris! I actually ordered the Exedy Twin Disk from you earlier this week, and I tried to call ya to get your take on the throwout bearing, but it was already too late. A big thanks on the reply. You are the third person to confirm, and I gotta commend ya on your customer service. Its top notch!

It's also the same bearing as the 02-05 WRX too, FWIW.

The STI uses a pull type clutch like the Evo.
