P0401 Code and it's not a hose that came off..

I have the P0401 code on an 03.. (i just got it) and I've run along every vacuum line that goes from here to Japan in the back of the engine bay.. and everything is connected.

If I pinch off the lines when its running.. nothing happens..

I need to pass Emissions test next week.. or I can't plate my new car..

I had the code cleared and it comes back after two key cycles.. without driving.

Help please.

THe vacum line that comes off is easy to miss, but assuming you know where to look, you may want to bump up your idle a bit to try a bandaide fix so you do not throw a code for now. May be an IAC motor.

A bad motor... or is it dirty perhaps?

If the IAC is bad? wouldn't the engine have problems at idle... for example.. not come down after starting...?

And how would the idle being higher not throw the code...?

The EGR valve is very easy to break. Check to see if one of the plastic fittings may have cracked. Tough to see, but maybe by wiggling the hoses slightly will reveal a crack.

brought it to the dealership...

there was a p0403 code too..

when they put in the new clutch.. it looks like he knocked the stuff around a little bit.. they are putting in a new EGR solenoid.. maybe a valve too.. not sure yet.

The light should be gone tomorrow morning and I will pass e-check.
