any champ car engine running ~2001 spun between 15,500 (Cosworth) & 17,400 (Toyota) I have seen sound analysis confirming these engine speeds, as Honda Spun ~16,800 & sound analysis validated the numbers that we see/saw within ecu data.

to stay on topic-

methanol is awesome. sprint car guys run it too! talking about crazy power to weight ratio's

you fill the water jackets in the block with it to make it stronger. The engine will have no coolant anymore...

Its to keep the cylinders round (big problem with straight alcohol) keep them from shifting and since alcohol burns so much cooler there is less need for coolant anyway. Most Top Alcohol cars are solid blocks with just watercooled heads...if that.

any idea how long it takes before the engines overheat when this is done and your running meth????? be really intresting to see just how long a meth Evo could run without coolant.

is block rigidity really a problem on the 4G63???

Just to add to this limited methanol knowledge base on evom:

1850cc@45psi FIC injectors maxed out on an FP Red at 1.8bar at 0.65 lambda. We tried to increase base pressure by 10psi to get some headroom, but then the Weldon 2025 fell flat on its face once it approached 80psi total pressure. Seems a mechanical fuel pump, more injectors and CDI needed beyond 600chp. Interestingly, turbo spool was late compared to C16, possibly due to lower EGT's. As expected, fuel has a high threshold for ignition timing and compression, but not for running lean.
