We just tightened down the bolt. I also put in 2 catch cans -one on each valve cover vent to keep the oil out of the intake.

Despite these efforts, I still see a little oil underneath. However it seems to be a big improvement from before.

Same mani, same gasket. We just tightened down the bolt. The amount of oil leak is very small -undetectable on the dipstick. Not sure why it leaks, or why oil is still getting into the manifold. But if the leak gets worse, we'll probably pull out the manifold and replace the gasket.

Could it be some gear oil from an axle seal?

Clean everything very well and then use the dye... that will at least show you where it is coming from

just called the prior owner. He did install the arp head studs. I'm not sure, if that could be a problem. I'm going to bring it to the mechanic to check it out next weenkend

Very old thread, but a4rontran what did you find? I've had this slow oil"seeping" condition for a long time and I'm still thinking if I should just continue to ignore it. It's not enough to drip on the garage floor, which makes me think it only seeps while the car is running, thus not leaking when stored in the garage. Also, not noticeable on the dipstick between oil changes.

I did do the 1x1 arp stud install, about 3 or 4 years ago.

Thanks,

JCG
