what does crate engine mean here?

Crate engine is a term used for , a "New in box" engine , It usually comes in a Crate... hence the name. Its a new OEM engine

 

Alky could be a biatch but is addictive. Droping in a built engine would be cheaper than a crate engine, plus I'm sure he doesn't need all the unnecessary parts that come with the crate engine.

the damage was that the pistons melted and also damaged the block they kept using the car until it shut down on them the problem was that the owner of the evo who is a friend of mine by word sold his car to someone else(whom would pay the next 2 days) this someone else got excited with his new toy went on to have a joy ride with all his friends in which he claims a freind of him turned off the alchy(we dont know if his lying about his friends) but alchy was indeed turned off cause the recipient was almost at half when he turned the car back(took the car form 1pm and returned it at 8pm) and he just left claiming the car didnt ran and kept shutting off so he left plain an simple he doesnt call back and when he gets called he wont pickup the phone(he lives 220miles away from us in another city)
there you go dont lend your car to nobody not even if they say they will pay it in a few hours first make them pay then hand it to them...

but i think neither bucshur racing nor ams send you the engine completly build up i think one has to put the head and torque it up with the block and he just wants to drop an new engine in there and just crank it up

ok anyways...have him call AMS and get a block already built for 2.3 or 2.0...will be a direct drop in..i think theres a core charge but you can pay extra to not give them his core(since its damaged) from what i remember eric telling me thro PMs they do mail off a built block..direct drop in
