I had sort of the same problem with mine . I bought one used and it had bad negative pole. It was Lose from the inside of the batt so I just ended up relocating the stock on to the trunk.

Did Odyssey get back to you? Perhaps they broke the terminals when they installed them at the factory. Sounds like you might just be very unlucky with having 2 brake.
