Fidanza cam gear problems

Fidanza cam gear problems

Hey guys

so the mechanic mounted up the fidanza cam gears to the cosworth cam shafts..

now when he put back on the cam gear cover the bolt fo rht cm gear rubbing on the housing...


what do u recommend i do to solve this?

new cam gear cover? let it rub until it cut away the little bit inside that rubbing?

advice pls....

dremel enuff to stop it or to cut a hole in the cover?

cut two holes in the cover in the right spot and it will go away do not let it rub till it goes away. thats your timing belt your letting plastic shavings fall into. or you can leave the cover off all toghter

ok i just spoke to another evo owner here in Trinidad and he said as it is the evo VII the cam gear cover has ribs on the inside to make it stronger. What he ended up doing short of buying the clear cam gear cover ( both of us like the stock look) he placed a shim on the top two bolts and it cleared the cam gears just enuff to stop it from rubbing

the other solution is the use the evo VI cam gear cover

just dremel enough to stop it from rubbing. You dont need to cut a hole in it. Then you can keep the stock look you want.
