Transmission question.

If I was to remove the rear portion (hypoid pinion?) from the transmission and fab a plate or cap to go in its place, how drivable would the car be?

It would only be temporary but I need to know If I could move the car in just FWD for a while.

There was an Evo that showed up in Tucson about a year and a half ago for some tuning, that had the driveshaft removed, and the owner had been driving it FWD without knowing it, there should be thread under Dynoflash about FWD Burnouts or something. But Why?
