*HKS MIVEC Cams Installed: Dyno Inside*
291 rwhp / 294 rwtq with HKS cams @ 21psi.
Frankly i think that is laame power esp. for a IX. The 1st time I dynoed the 2006 IX MR, it made 278/274 awhp bone stock.
We installed a Full inake system, full 3" exhaust, and HKS UICP/LICP, went back to the dyno and did 312/304 awhp and to also add to that, the Greddy Proec-B wasnt functioning so the boost was eratic.
I honestly think you should be packing way more power than that for a set of "HKS" cams unless you have a **** load of tuning to be done..
jus my 0.2cents

Without doing back to back comparison the information is useless really.... and cant be compared to anything else.
Only way to show if he made "more" power is to go to the track and see how it traps and compare to trap speeds prior to the cams (if they exist).
Other than that looks like we will continue to wonder if HKS cams make power and how much they actually make vs. competitor cams.

1 - The numbers are from a Mustang Dyno (which reads really low).
2 - He's on 91 octane.
3 - It was 121 degrees.
4 - More importantly than the hp/tq numbers, look at the gain from the cams. I'd say that's a pretty good gain throughout the RPM range.
Did you read the whole post?

Then how much will this EVO IX with "HKS CAMS" make on a good day...@ least say 40-50 more AWHP
I'm putting a set of cams not for the final throuhgput but for the minuscule incremental gain within the total powerband.....
Please expound futher on your theory....???
