Are there any negative affects on No Lift Shifting?

I see people doing it all the time, but I was wondering if it was bad for anything like the transmission or your clutch.

Thanks

It's not "good" on your tranny im sure, but if you do it right and dont miss your shift you should be ok. If you do miss a gear your rpm's are gonna shoot through the roof. I wouldnt do it unless you have a full race car, which i doubt you do.

I ususally only do this if Im racing and I only do it on the 3-4 shift because it seems easy to me....and more smooth than a 1-2 or 2-3 no lift shift

You'll just hit the rev limiter.

Yes but going full load to no load with the RPMs skying iss a nice way to unwind your motor.

Not worth it, unless you decide to go dogbox of course

The rev limiter will not help if you mechanically overspin the motor from a wrong shift.

What if you don't misshift? I have never misshifted my 5 speed or any 6 speed I had either.

Besides the stock clutch not enjoying it, if you manage to execute this correctly what damage could occur?

Its a very abusive practice for many components on your car

It is best saved for times when you are in a very close race you dont want to loose

IMO its not worth the abuse on your drivetrain for the .001 sec it might drop your ET. If you practice enough you can do full throttle lift shift quick enough to never need to NLTS. I have datalogs showing that my racing full lift shifts are actually quicker & smoother then my no-lifts shift. Not to mention there is virtually no knock with a smooth full throttle lift shift but most of the time a NL shift produces counter active engine knock which reduces timing for a brief period.

good advice from all of you guys. I will just stick with the good old fashion shifting techniques.
