OMG!!! Just opened the air box...

Just picked up my Evo IV less than a week ago after waiting a week for it to go through the test as it failed on emissions and upon opening the air box for the first time to see what the filter was like I was shocked to find tissue all in front of the standard filter!!

Has this been done as a bodge job to get it through the test or is it something EVO owners do? The car dealer denied anything to do with it!

I try...

My guess is someone is an idiot. I would remove them and possibly replace the filter. Maybe they took it to the beach, and were using it as a sand trap so the filter wouldn't get ruined.

I've seen stupider s*** in my day tho...

Probably stopping it from getting too much cold, which is the worry.

The car dealer said "sometimes they do it with Evo's when working on the engine with dirty hands!"

Taking it back Monday to get the rear foglight working, seems it got through the MOT without it functioning!

Just discovered the windscreen squirters are blocked too today which means another thing that the MOT testers should have failed the car for.

In the Foggy UK (well it used to be before the onset of Global Warming, it doesn't even snow much on the ground in Scotland these days.) we need a working rear foglight to pass the MOT. My Evo, though fitted after being imported from Japan, has one but doesn't seem to work and has passed the recent MOT!!!!!!!!!!!

Just noticed today after being stuck in traffic the temperature needle in the temp guage drops rapidly in an erratic manner after hitting the middle of the guage! - has this been bodged too to hide over heating? can that be done?
